Media Portfolio Project Final Reflection

Final Thought about the Portfolio Project:

Looking back, I learned a lot from this project. I didn't realize how much work goes into making even a short film. From planning to filming to editing, every step took more effort than I expected.

One of the biggest things I improved on was using technology. I got better at filming, editing, and making sure everything looked and sounded right. Editing was tricky at first, but after watching tutorials and practicing, I figured it out.

I also learned a lot about storytelling. I wanted the audience to connect with Mateo's journey, so I focused on making his emotions feel real thought lighting, music, and camera angles.

Time management was another challenge. Filming and editing took longer than I thought, and things didn't always go as planned. But I found Ways to fix problems and keep going.

Overall, this project helped me improve my skills and creativity. if I had more time, I'd refine a few things, but I'm around of what I created and excited to work on more projects in the future.

Media portfolio Project CCR Post Production

Step 1: Checking My Slides

  • Once I had all my slides done, I went through them a few times to see if they made sense. I fixed any spelling mistakes, made sure the pictures weren't blurry, and checked that the text was easy to read. I also kept the slides simple too much text would make it boring, and I didn't want people just reading off the screen instead of listening to me
Step 2: Adjusting the Timing
  • I wanted my presentation to flow well, so I practiced to make sure I wasn't rushing or taking too long. At first, I realized I was either taking too fast or getting stuck on certain parts. I fixed this by timing myself while going through it a few times, so I knew exactly how long each slide should take.
Step 3: Improving My Delivery
  • Just like editing a film to make it more engaging, I wanted my presentation to be interesting to listen to. I practiced speaking clearly and making eye contact instead of just staring at my slides. I also added a few pauses where I knew I needed to slow down so I wouldn't just ramble through everything.
Step 4: Doing a Final Run-Through
  • Before actually presenting, I did a final run through in front of a friend. This helped me see if anything still felt awkward or if I needed to change the way I explained certain parts. Getting feedback helped me make small improvements that made a big difference.
Post production isn't just for films it's also important for presentations. Taking the time to check my slides, practice my timing, and improve my delivery made my final presentation way better. If I had just thrown everything together and presented without reviewing it, I probably would have made a lot more mistakes.
In the end, I'm glad I put in the extra effort because it helped me feel more confident when I actually gave the presentation. If I ever do another one, I'll definitely use what I learned to make it even better.

Media Portfolio Project Production CCR

Step 1: Figuring Out What to Talk About
  • First, I had to decide what to actually put in the presentation \. Since my project used a bunch of different technology, I split into three parts: software, hardware, and online tools. I also wanted to talk about some of the problems I ran into and how I fixed them, so it. wasn't just a list of stuff I used.
Step 2: Making the Slides
  • I wanted my slides to look good but not be too complicated. I used PowerPoint to make them because it has nice templates that made things easier. I kept the words short so I wouldn't just read off the screen and added a few pictures, like a camera, and an editing timeline, to make it more interesting.
Step 3: Writing What I Was Gonna Say
  • I didn't want to just stand up there and freeze, so I wrote a little script to help me out. I made sure it sounded natural like how I actually talk so it wouldn't be too boring. I also added some stuff about my own experience, like the struggles I had with editing and shaky footage, to make it more real.
Step 4: Practicing So I Didn't Mess up
  • Once my slides and script were ready, I practiced a few times. The first couple of times, I kept messing up or forgetting what to say, but after a few tries, it got easier. I also timed myself so I wouldn't talk too fast or take forever to finish.
Honestly, making this presentation helped me realize how much I actually learned during the film project. At first, I didn't think about how much tech was involved, but after breaking it all down, I saw how important it was. Overall, I think my presentation turned out pretty good, and I hope my classmates like it too.
If I could do it again, I'd probably try to add some video clips or a live demo instead of just using slides. but for my first try, I think it went alright.

Media portfolio Project Group Meeting Summary

During this day we were split into 4 different groups to discuss on how our projects were turning out and what ideas we had for our CCR's. One of the first things we did was introduce ourself and want our last names were so we could go over you blog post about your project. Ones we went through each others blog post we all ask each other if they had any raw footage they wanted to show us and ask if it was turning out good.  One by one we showed our footage and I was so surprised on my classmates work. Even tho they had more experience then me on film and editing I was motivated on making my project better. Even tho I thought I wouldn't be able to do a good job they gave me the motivation on making this project standout from my proviso projects. Ones we finished talking about our project and CCR's idea we went and Blog about our CCR's Research. We didn't really have to many ideas on what to do for our CCR's

Media Portfoilio Project CCR #4

CCR question #4

How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

For this project, I used a bunch of different technology, like software, cameras, and online tools, to help put everything together. Each part of making the film planning, filming, and editing needed different tech, and I learned a lot along the way

Software:

Editing was a big deal for this project. I used Adobe Premiere Pro to cut scenes, add transitions, and fix the colors so everything looked better. I also worked with the audio editing software to make sure the sound was clear and that the music and dialogue matched up. Editing took a lot of time, but it made the film look way more better.

Online tools:

The internet was super helpful for this project. I used YouTube to watch editing tutorials, looked at other short films for inspiration, and found royalty- free music online to use in the background. Blogger help keep everthing organized, and social media like TikTok and Instagram was great for researching trends and figuring out how to promote the film

Media Portfoilio Project CCR #3 Research

CCR question #3

How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

How My Production skills developed throughout this project

When I started this project, I had basic understanding of filmmaking, but throughout the process, I learned a lot about planning, filming, and editing. Each step of making the opening scene helped me improve different production skills.

In the beginning, pre-production was all about getting organized- writing the script, making a shot list, and figuring out costumes and props. I realized how important it is to plan everything out before filming. Storyboarding really helped me picture how I wanted the scenes to look, and I also learned some cool filming techniques by doing research.

During filming, I got better at using the camera, framing shots, and playing around with different angles to make scenes look more interesting. I also figured out that lighting is a big deal some shots didn't turn out how I expected, but after messing around with different lighting setups, I saw how much it can change the mood of a scene.

Editing was probably where I improved the most. Cutting scenes together, adding sound effects, and using transitions made everything look smoother. At first, editing was super frustrating, but after practicing, it got easier, and I actually had fun with it.
