Using the colors black, gray and white in Mateo's clothes represented different aspects of his personal and athletic struggles.

• Black-symbolizes his doubt, pain, and the isolation he feels after his injury.
• Gray-represents the uncertainty of his future, a space between past confidence and present struggles.
• White- signifies hope, recovery, and the potential for a fresh start.

• Dust floating in the air, visible under the light beams, adding texture to the scene

• Crowd in the bleachers, but slightly blurred to keep focus on Mateo perspective
• Shiny freshly painted court, contrasting with the scuffed one in the present day scene
• Scoreboard actively counting down, fully of energy and motion

• Single overhead light focusing on Mateo-isolating him
• Deep shadows on the floor- adding a sense of weight and pressure
• Slight flickering from the scoreboard light -subtle visual cue that time and past failures hunt him

By using this different set and lighting, I can be able to create a emotional contrast between Mateo past glory and present struggles, visually reinforcing his character journey

• Scoreboard- Present scene: will show the countdown of the clock/ Flashback scene: will show the time stuck on 10 sec reminding him of his failure
• Swear Towel and Water Bottle- Used during training scene to emphasize exhaustion and the effort he putting in
• locker Room Mirror - Mateo looking at himself adding self-reflection
• Gym Bag- Tossed aside casually in the opening, showing his focus solely on training

Format: (2 minutes long Opening Scene)

A high school basketball player, is trying to get his confidence back after an injury. One night, he stays late in the gym, practicing alone. As the player shoots, he remembers the moment he got hurt, but instead of letting it stop him, he keeps going, determined to prove he's ready to play again.

Key Elements:

Flashback sequence- Players past failure aka injury and present redemption aka training

Emotional Depth- sports action with personal drama

Visual Storytelling- Using slow motion, sound design, and lighting shifts to emphasize tension growth

Tone:

A blend of realism and stylization, using slow motion and POV shots to enhance emotional impact
